Default True Projector style headlamps for the 98-02 Tran Am

I have read just about every HID, and Sealed Beam Conversion thread on here.

I currently have Eurolights.com sealed beam conversion on my 98 Trans Am. they are great sealed beams but I am running into the same probably listed on many of the other thread about the light being dispersed due to the lens on it. I had a friend that puts HID's on his Hyabusa tell me about a guy he used on Ebay that sells kits. I spent $245 on both my 8000K HID kits(low beams and fogs lights). So total I spent around $375 for my sealed beam conversion and HID's.

So now I am on to my dilemma.

I want a projector style beam that fits directly into the stock housing for the 98-02 Trans Am. I am trying to eliminate the dispersion caused by using these sealed beam conversion lenses. Is there such a thing?

I know it seems picky but I am not trying to be. With that said, I don't want posts about other cars, bikes, or trucks. Strictly Trans Am and Firebird please!

Thanks in advance

I'm subscribing to this post because I'd be interested in the same thing. I've looked around at different projector options and haven't found anything worth the time or money to do.

I too have the Eurolights.com lenses, so I'm slightly better than stock, but nothing close to a real projector light or HID.

Check out the Lighting FAQ.
Its in the Hall of Fame sticky and in my sig.
Here is a link for convenience:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/710357-lighting-faq.html

I haven't found any plug-and-play kits, but something can be fabbed up without too much difficulty.

I have Hella 90mm H9 Projectors on my 2001 Formula.

SCRWS6, had the FX45 projectors in the link Disturbed Bird posted.
(I say "had" because he's working on something a lot more custom. He keeps himself busy. )
BTW, that link is also in the Lighting FAQ.

The Lighting FAQ also has links to other custom projector setups.

Thanks for the info. I have read all of these and commend all the people that have gone through the trials and tribulations of trying to make projector beams fit our cars. I like some and dislike some but hard work always gets an A in my book. I was hoping that someone had maybe come out with some projector style beams like the ones the guy showed on ebay, but not as cheap.

This all an opinion of course, but when you have half the projector hanging outside of the original housing it just doesn't look right.

Hella 90mm modular projectors are the way to go man! There are three different options, H9, H7, and D2S (which will be on my car soon). Has to be the easiest choice. Other than that, find someone who will fab up something for you. And that link distrbird posted is a great idea but those are fog light projectors which won't do the same as actuall head light projectors!

Actually SCRWS6 has done at least three different headlight setups and that one that Distubed Bird posted uses FX45 Bi-Xenon headlight projectors with the High Beam feature defeated. You're thinking of an earlier setup SCRWS6 did with fog light projectors.

That was in the Lighting FAQ. There isn't much info on it in that thread though. If I find more, I'll post it.

I updated the text to be more clear on which projectors they are.

The last few replacements I've bought are glass front with metal back. And they've basically been a housing with another bulb inside. If you look at the back, you'll see a large white silicone cap with the prongs sticking out. You can cut off the silicone and unscrew the bulb.

I love the fact that you guys have so much information on this topic. You guys have gone great distance to make these setups work.

What I was looking for was........ I Projector that retains the stock look and housing. no cutting the lens out or flipping the housing and installing that way (although very creative!).

Thanks for everyone input and keep it coming, I want to learn as much as possible about different styles and setups
