Default Experimental Lowering Technique, does this look good?

This is a simple photoshop.

I basically plan to tub all 4 wheel wells and then lower the car with an air ride system so it can sit on the ground. What I'm thinking of doing is re-arching the 4 fender lips so that I can turn the front wheels fully when lowered. I may set the drive height to about 4" off the ground, maybe 3". I'm just curious if you saw this cruising past you on the freeway, would you do a double take and smile or blow it off as cheesy?

meh, to each their own. If its something you want to do, go for it.
It does take on a vette like stance with it that low.

I think the only way to get it lower is to chop the top. The thought of a Carson Top entered my mind, but it'd probably be too much work. It's paid for and just a toy now that I have another car to drive, so I'm going to go a little crazy with it. A chop top might be too crazy.

damnn i think that looks really mean. but two things come to mind when lowering a car that much. i would rather have performance, my y pipe would scrape like crazy, and i cant see how that would help your launching capabilites, that thing probably would spin like crazy. but it definatly looks awesome man

Should be interesting if you want it to sit on the frame since the exhaust hangs lower than the frame

I plan to tuck it up. The really low parts are the front K-member and the trans crossmember. I went out to take a few more measurements. This is the real pic as it sits right now.

It doesn't look real low but there is only 4.5" clearance from the K-member. I have 2" of wheel travel (front compression), so if I want to drive at this low height. I can only reduce the ride height another 2.5". At max compression, like a speed bump, it may scrape just a little.

Hmmm, I may not be able to drive it at the height I have in the 1st pic. I may be able to get around the K-member problem because it's in between the front tires so they will lift up the car as you go over something. See all the other stuff hanging under the car? I need to tuck that crap up higher to make the bottom of the car flatter and then I probably should extend the side skirts to match the flat bottom height.

Thanks, but I'm obsessed with making it lower.

I love the look in the first picture, but I don't see it as being practical to drive down the road, especially on interstates where you are traveling at a high rate of speed, and going over bumps really compresses the suspension. To keep from ripping everything including the body off the car, you'd want to set it higher, and your car would end up looking like a 4x4 driving down the road due to the wheel well modifications you suggested, but awesome sitting in a parking lot.

That's the look I'm going for.
I don't drag race, I prefer high speed runs.

Yeah, you have a point about the wheel arches. I may have to compromise and raise them just enough to turn the wheel at my slightly higher ride height.

Here's a camaro courtesy of slammed 1500. As you can see, the wheels tuck in quite a bit.

I plan to have the wheels sticking a bit further out, closer to the fender edge.

Here he is at ride height.

To give you a better idea about the height range, here's a C4 on air.

If I didn't re-arch the wells, it would probably look like this pic.

I don't think you can get any lower than that. Chop the top maybe.
