Old Goat, New Tricks (One Photograph)
I came up with this just playing around in post half asleep and completely exhausted...
Normally I do very, very little in post processing. I took this older picture (dont know that I ever actually posted it though) and did a little late night photoshop work. Granted this style does look heavily post-processed, and it is, but you have to begin with a solid image. I'll still stick to my regular style, but it was just something fun to mess with before I turned in for the night.
This makes me want spring to hurry up and get here so I can get the CCWs back on the GTO and start enjoying it again.

Nice work man. The post processing came out real nice.
I am working with a Canon Rebel XTi, Canon 28-200 EF f/3.5-5.6 USM lens. This is my first DSLR. I am still trying to figure out how to shoot in manual mode. There are a couple photo forums I frequent trying to learn the tricks of the trade. And photoshop is another aspect of photography I am trying to master.
Any sites I should check out? Tips?

Thanks TX. I'm particularly fond of that shot too.
Detoxx and DU, thanks guys. I try to do my best...even if I am half asleep, haha.
White, I posted a tutorial in here about a path to better pictures. Look in the appearance hall of fame and it's in there. It has a lot of good tips, tricks, and information to help you better understand and achieve good pictures. Check it out for sure.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. And when I say I dont remember what all I did I'm being honest as it was late and I was half asleep anyway. Coming back in today I see mistakes I made that are driving me nuts with it but I'll check into correcting them later. For a fact I know I did the following...
Hill Effect:
High pass vivid light blending mode adjustment, high pass color blending mode adjustment, gausiann blur adjustment layer via masking, slightly noise addition, blending and feathering everything together, and applying an unsharp mask.
In addition:
Levels, curves, hue/saturation, brightness/contrast, shadows/highlights, dodge/burn, and sharpening which I do to most all of my photos (sometimes not d/b though). I know I had to do a few other tweaks to get the look I wanted (including a skygrad) but it was just playing around and experimenting so I dont remember my exact steps.

That one pic was worth seeing, looks great. One day I will take the time to learn all this stuff. Took 4 or so photoshop classes in highschool and never really took my own pictures to practice with. Now I have a camera and never use photoshop lol.
