not really apples to apples but i drove my friends s10 (5 speed) and liked it a lot and i also liked the one on my auto so i want a familiar feel and the ***** ive been seeing just arent appealing to me like the big billet ball shifters or the vette shifters just dont do it for me and i liked my palm resting on the shifter, although i have considered the pistol grips but i would think that they are too tall for street driving and would feel akward

I had a t-handle on a 6-speed car and I loved how it felt. It was ugly as could be (the one formed like a hand) but nothing else felt as good to me. You might have to buy one and get it powdercoated. Lokar sells come cool stuff in black though, you might look them up

I do not have a manual, so I have not used one first hand, but I have heard that if you are racing you can't shift as quick because of the design.....your hand stays in one position on the t-handle *****....when shifting gears, to get the quickest possible shifts your hand has to move around more...thats why round designed ***** are better for shifting IMO.....
BUT, if you like it, then get one, I think they look pretty nice, even though i prefer the look of the round *****

My handle came on my car, and when I test drove it I hated it and wanted to switch it out for the factory Hurst ****. But after driving it home two hours it changed my mind.

I've got a hurst T-handle on my A4 V6 'Bird and I love the way it looks and feels. I've driven vehicles with T-handle shifters that were manual and didn't have any problems with it. They aren't real expensive at your local Auto store, so get one and try it out. If you don't like it, put it up for sale here or E-bay or maybe you know someone else who'll want it. I prefer the Hurst style over the B&M HOWEVER any metal shifter will get scorching hot in the summer sun. I keep a micro fiber rag in my car to wipe my painted interior pieces and I put that over the shifter in the summer until the A/C cools the metal off. I wouldn't recommend bare-handing it in the summer or, if anyone's from Wisconsin, in the 30-below-zero winters. Swat

It's a handle and it's all a personal preference, nothing more.

On my t-handle, since it was all metal, it gave more a more accurate feel as to where the shifter was in corellation to the shift gates. With practice my muscle memory kicked in and shifted as accurately as an automatic transmission. It was also a great place to rest my hand on long drives, very comfortable.

Nah it dont slow the shift down....just all in your head about how fast and the gears to grab. Its just a handle but I would prefer my black 6speed ball from hurst over my buddies hurst T-handle in his 6 speed.
Besides in the winter, those T-handles will freeze your damn hand off! haha

I like both the feel of the T handle and the ball *****. I actually have the t handle wired into a weatherpack connector that I can easily disconnect and take the T handle off. When it is off I usually use my MBA **** which I LOVE!!! Like I said I just like the t handle because I can use my line lock/2 step. But when racing one the street I really have no need for either of them.
