Well...that only lasted about one day with the cops around here. It was my buddy's truck. He got pulled over the day after it was done and the cop told him to take it off right then and there or he was impounding it. 
Luckily it came right off. He sold that truck to get a Cobra and has 35% on the windshield of that car. I've driven the Cobra at night with the 35% windshield and it's not bad. Keep in mind all of the other windows on the car are tinted too. I hope you have good vision too.

^^well side windows are illegal as well, and when I got them done the guy just told me to not tell them where I got it done, I payed with cash, but he said he would have taken debit, or credit....but, yeah it is illegal for them to put it on, so its better if you know the person that is doing your tint
That depends on the state man...side windows aren't always illegal, for instance, here in MA, I can run 35% all around, including the side windows. I can also tint the first 6" of the windshield with anything "non-reflective"...they also require that I have both of my outside rearview mirrors if my back window is tinted (and it'd look stupid without them anyways). Ive got 45% on my windshield, 20 on the sides and 5 on the back. Its not bad at all to see out of. At night its abit tougher but its no worse then driving an older car, with abit weaker head lights. It isnt too bad man.
yeah im thinking of getting 45% think thats what the guy told me he said that he has not had any complaints with the 3 lightest tints about night driving or cops from his costumers.
I've had 35% on my side windows and 5% in the back and anything above 20% is a waste of money in my opinion. I took the bird 2 weeks ago to get 5% all around and the visor strip and now much more satisfied.
Heres a very old pic when I first got my car after getting the windows tinted for your enjoyment even though the front windshield isnt done, you get the look of 5% "limo" atleast.....
