Default Berger Panel Question?

So I'm about to paint my panel but I had a question regarding the color. I know the originals were satin black and the name of the color GMMG used was "Trim Black"; so, what color have you guys been using and where did you buy it at?

Also, what prep did you do?

I used Krylon Semi-Flat... Been on there a year and looks sweet. I think gloss looks kinda funny.

When I called Berger they told me it was called "bumper black". That is what I told my painter. My car was next to a Berger car at a car show, looked 100% spot on.

I used Duplicolor bumper coating. Its semi gloss and looks perfect. No priming or finish sanding required. Just scuff and spray.

Oh the prep part...

I took my panel out, took like 10 mins to yank it off there. Washed it with the pre-soaped SOS pad and rinsed really well, then blew it off with the air hose and wiped it with alcohol and a microfiber rag. Taped off the emblems and got after it, turned out perfect.

I left the inside of the orange bowtie the color of the car, adds a nice accent I think...

Make sure you scuff real well inside the letters (CAMARO)... I've seen others where it chipped out.

Good stuff here guys, thanks a lot. I hope to have it done and installed within the month, I'll let you guys know how it comes out and put some pics up. And yes it is going on a black car, I think it should be pretty unique.

Oh yeah, if any of you guys have the hookup on and original GMMG badge (not the decal) let me know and I'll probably be willing to compensate you!

I just bought a semi-gloss black berger panel with the Camaro inserts from a guy on camaroz28.com. I haven't gotten it yet, but it looked pretty darn good on his car. I can't wait to get it and see it on mine.
