Window tint is just a film. Start at a corner, or a not so long edge, and just peel it off. You may need a razor blade to initially get under neath the tint, but once you start peeling, it should come off without too much trouble. It also would help if it were in a cool humid atmosphere, instead of baking in the sun in the middle of Nevada.

Not sure what is best, as I have peeled off tint before, and it just peels right off with little to no residue. This was a long time ago though so perhaps the glue or adhesive they use now a days takes a bit more work, but I doubt it.

i had 15% i got a ticket for it, $130 in AL. i went to 35%. i bought some stuff at wal-mart called tint-off i think. you spray it on and let it set like 15 mins it loosens it up pretty good. i used e blade on the tough places.

a steamer works good, but you have to be careful with blades on the defrost lines.

just like what everyone else said, just peel off the film, and a razorblade w/ water or windex to get what little residue is left.

the only time it is a pain in the butt is when the tint is so old that it has turned purple and it comes off in tiny little pieces.

good luck

i just got mine tinted a couple of weeks ago 5%. the guy that did it said to make sure to use window cleaner that is amonia free. he said amonia is what he uses to get old tint off. he's been doing tint for years, so maybe amonia would help you get the old tint off.

Or just take it to a place that does tint and they'll take care of it for you. I wouldn't do 5% tint on my own as it shows anything and everything that is between the window and the tint.
