Very nice man I got love for the thirdgens also. I own a 90 and hopefully Ill start working on it again soon. You should have went with a ls1 rear tho or atleast a 89 and up with the better disc. Still very nice I bought the same type of disc brake rear at first I now have all the parts to convert to the better brakes.

Looks great! Is that a 4th gen rear? Does it stick out at all?

Thats a '87 3.42 rear.

The new rear ive got for the car is a 3.73 LS1 rear. Ill use that with the LS1 wheels & LS1 brakes

haha Yeah.

Best part, is my car can kick the **** out of every 4 banger i know

One of my buddy's has a Done up Jetta, the other has a newer impala.

Im normally in trouble with them, as they put it "Go easy man, you know our car's cant keep up"

Ive been juggling the idea of finishing the car up and selling it off in the summer, to pick up a LS1 SS or WS6, as they are truely my dream car.

Time will tell i guess

A 01 SS was my dream car in HS lol. Now that I got one though all I can think of is getting my thirdgen back together I miss that car.

the 4th gen rear's would push the stock thirdgen wheel's out 2" on each side. You can cure that by using 4th gen wheels, or vette wheels or something along those lines. Cant think of much you can do to make the thirdgen wheel go inward with that wheel, shy of having the wheel offset changed i guess

Gotta love the third gens. I have 2 convertibles my self. Nice car, and keep up the good work. However the car could have lived without replacing the dash with a 93-97 model.

LS1 5.3? Wouldn't that be a different motor if it is not a 5.7. Just curious.

Nice project though. Paint looks great. I wish I had the time, money and an alternate car to do that kind of work.

I agree I think the stock dash fits the car well. Altho I seen some complete interior change overs door panels and all that looked good.

Nice job overall on the car. I'm not feeling the early 4th gen dash in there though. I've never been a fan of chaning the dash in a car though. It hardly ever matches unless you change out doorpanels too.

Thanks for the input guys. The engine is a LM7 from a '03 Silverado. I normally just put LS1 so the motor style is understood.

In regards to the dash, i really disliked the stock dash. The dash i have i got really cheap. Im planning on upgrading the dash to a '99 dash next winter to work with my LS1 fuel tank fuel sender.

Im going to be grabbing a bunch of parts while im in florida next week to get it closer to being finished.

Sheldon
