Thanks Guys!
My Plans for the Canadian 4 day weekend:
-Pull out stock rear diff + Gas tank
-Setup LS1 Tank + Fuel lines
-Pull motor/trans & finish painting the engine bay
-Finish LS1 Front brakes
-Modify my manifolds
If i get all that done, during the week i can make up my new motor mounts & get the motor mounted into the car.
Im going to be having a friend help me out with the wiring as im completely lost on that subject. Then im nearly done.
Parts that still need to arrive/be bought:
LS2 Fuel Rails
Metal for y-pipe
Elbow for intake
Think thats most of it. Guess ill find out this weekend

very cool ride. i'm in the midst right now of deciding what to do with my IROC. i've posted in other threads about buying back my old 86 without an engine and my wanting badly to do what you have with the LSX conversion. i'm really wanting to go with an ls2/t56 tranny, but keep putting off pulling the trigger because of the expense as well as all the other things that will need done.
keep up the great work and keep post the pics. i'm excited to see what you got when your finished product rolls out, although i'm sure not as excited as you.
again...VERY cool ride.

Hey Everyone.
I lost this thread & sorta forgot i made it. So i havnt updated it in a long time.
That means im going to update the **** out of it now.
Well, since the last post, ive moved, got a new shop, fabricated like a ****, got the engine running, bought a new trans, spent a rediculous amount of money i didnt want/plan on spending, drove the car for 3000 miles, took it off the road for the winter, bought an LS1 block started assembling an LS1, bought a T56 setup, fabricated my own suspension parts etcccccc.
Anywho, heres some updates \
Alright, so one of my first issues were the truck manifolds didnt fit.
Since i was a broke *** 17 year old at the time (18 now, still broke) and i couldt afford $800 for SW headers, i bought some $149 Hedmans and some LSX flanges and made my own headers
Dad fabbed up a Y for me (thanks dad! you rock )
Got the engine all mounted up in the car w/ an LS6 intake. I thought i needed LS2 fuel rails for my truck injectors so i sold my vette FRC's
Turned out they didnt fit ym Ls6 intake so i bought some ls1 injectors and some billet fuel rails and re-wired my harness.
See here i had a friend help with the harness, then i went to homedepot for my CAI Headers arnt in yet, but alot of progress thus far.
Decided i didnt want $200 tied up in my billet rails, so i sold em and found some Ls1 fuel rials in the shop off the 2000 t/a we parted. Also painted my fugly sewer pipe CAI
Headers innn! And they even fit well w/ a little hammer assistance
Here's what came of the electronic pedal. The truck setup was wayyyy off, so i took an angle grinder and a mig to it and came up with this. My dad isnt into the feel of it, but i love it. And since im they only one who is ever going to drive thsi car, i didnt worry
my FUGLY modified crossmember. Made my own chassis mount tq. arm since my new 4L65e didnt have the proper tailshaft housing and this was much cheaper. Functioned well over teh summer, didnt break and it will get swapped out this winter when i do my new "hump" crossmember for my T56 so i can tuck exhaust up tighter.
Here's the engine bay the first day i had it home
And its holyness sitting in the driveway. Excuse the wipers up, it didnt have a wiper motor at this point
And i decided i didnt like the Lt1 camaro interior anymore. So i tore the dash out in favor of an LS1 t/a dash. Uses serial gauges which worked out good with my swap. Its FAR from complete here, i wont have shots of it complete untill november-december.

Moreee!
Well, i some how managed to ruin the solidstate logic in my cluster, so i tore the dash out trying to figure out what was up. While i was in there, i thought the 4th gen door panels may just work?
They required power windows though. Quick trip to the boneyard solved that:
Yuck. Wiring. Going to make this a SHITLOAD prettier and cleaner this winter.
Monsoon system in the '00 t/a migrated into my iroc when i wasnt looking.
And now the car is away! The LS1 brakes i had on it...yeah. Sold em. Boughtt some 14" CTS-V Brembo's
repainted some engine stuff prior to putting it away. Here's the engine 10 mins before i tore into it.
Front suspension! where did thy go!? Tore it out. New struts going in, had to slightly mod my lower springs to account for 150lbs off the front, painted up my a-arms, got some poly bushings to make thigns nicer.
painted upp. bushings, ball joints to come.
I had a dieing need to see how clean the cylinder walls were in my 8k 5.3L motor. Just as i expected:
And this is how she rested after day 2 of rehab
What'ya think

Ive got alot of good deals on this thing. combined with the fact ive been working alot, and living at home means very few bills.
Basically, every penny that Canadian tire pours into my bank account, my car is sitting with its mouth wide open waiting to suck it all back out.
Oh well, its been amazing so far.

You have a lot more patience and knowledge than me. 3 years of advanced auto tech and 3 trips to the state competition and I still suck
But congrats on the build!

Thanks for the kind words guys.
I do have alot of patience. Sometimes atleast haha.
Im trying to do alot of "firsts" for these cars.
So far ive got:
First Electronic throttle LSx Thirdgen
First Hedman Modified headers
One of the first few 5.3L swaps
Only guy using a 4L65e that ive seen (though its goin soon)
Plans for more:
Custom Projector headlights
First few guys with CTS-V Brakes
Ill update this list as i go along

Impressive....that will be one hell of a car when finished. Its good to have young members like you here at LS1TECH. Honestly you should be a role model for some of the "mentally challenged" youngsters infecting the forums lately.
