Default yet another whistler ?

so my wonderfully intellegent gf asked yesterday, "has anyone used a heat gun rather than an oven?"

just curious whether anyone had used a heat gun to heat the sealant up rather than using the traditional oven...id feel a lot more comfortable busting out a heat gun rather than sticking my lights in my old, semi-unreliable oven

Yea actually. I didn't want to do the oven thing either...lol. I used a heat gun here at the shop and it worked perfectly. You do still have to get them pretty hot, but they came out perfect, and no cracks or anything. Made me feel alot more comfortable using the heat gun over the oven...

lol, why is everyone so paranoid about using an oven? its works just fine, you just have to remember that you left it in there....

Exactly what happened to mine. Someone in the house preheated the oven to 450 (headlights in the oven) and my timer went off and found this:
