Default is their anything that takes scratches off a windshield

alright well last year i was driving my car in the rain and the weather was pretty bad, i was just driving so i got stuck in it. The rubber on one of the wiper blades fell off i needed my left wiper though bc it still worked and the rain was bad... The metal of the blade on the right wiper scratched the right part of my windshield... I have tried washing it and rubbing it as hard as i can but i cant seem to get rid of the scratch on the windshield. Is their a chemical that will make it look normal again or am I gunna have to replace the whole windshield?

I had scratches all over my windshield (something the previous owner did, who knows) and I ended up having to replace it.

Can you feel the scratch with your fingernail? If so chances are it's not coming out. If you can't feel it, it should buff out.

You can always buff scratches out of glass. The problem with this is just like paint in order to buff out a scratch you have to take material off in the process of buffing, in doing so, you will have a low spot in the windshield that the wipers will skip over. As long as you dont drive in the rain, no problem, if you do or could get caught in it then there could be a visibility issue. Not to mention annoying. Hope this helps.

Call your insurance company. On my old car the windshield was pitted to hell and was very hard to see out of. I had full coverage and it covered the replacement without any deductible. Rates didnt even rise at all. I was even told I could get a "free" windshield every year if I felt like it.

Yep, they do buff the winshield but it doesn't really work (even light scratches), they will still be there, so if you are picky and want it nice and clear, get a new one.
