I dunno.... For some reason the whole car just loses it pop out at you look... The car looks more subtle with the new design.. But like you said you can strip it and go back... Its your choice and YOU should make it

Please don't ruin those wheels. Leave them alone, and get a cheap wheel to try it out on to see if you like it. As stated earlier, the car just pops with the rims like they are now.

In the pics above it looks horrible on all of the cars except maybe the lambo..

I'm still going to honor my words earlier in this thread...

I personally like the look of a clean wheel myself, BUT I would try it. I really like how those Corvette's look, and the Viper. It's just hard to pull the trigger on such a nice set of wheels. If only you had a cheap-o set of wheels to test on.

i completely disagree.

it will look really nice with the correct color matching.

make sure you do the entire lip rather than a ring like in the photoshop.....

Man thats funny you posted these because I am going back and forth on doing my HRE's in the flat black/Blue combo in that exact pic you posted. I say do it as long as the entire lip matches the car color, it will look sick. Its not like you have cheap *** wheels, it always looks like **** on cheap wheels, AMAZING on nice ones. But I know how you feel, when wheels are that expensive screwing them up is scary.

I don't think I'm doing it. Spice is a very dynamic color and in darker light its gets much darker, and I don't think it would look right on overcast days or at night. Looks great on bright cars but Spice just gets too dark under dim light for it to really pop like it needs to IMO.

I'm down to pretty much replicating a brushed nickel or titanium finish on the faces and leaving the polished lip, going high metallic silver on the faces and leaving the polished lip, or just picking up some ZoopSeal and hoping for the best.

Now:

Color Matched:

Brushed Nickel/Titanium:

A still of a Vette with the brushed nickel finish, it's not gunmetal or graphite as it has a bit more dimension and a more high class look to me...

The colored hoops are definitely more exotic, but the nickel brushed finish is classy too.
