Default Tail Light Ideas

I was planning on nightshading my taillights, and I was wanting to do something to make the lights brighter so the cops won't bother me. Can I get some LED replacement bulbs? Would that help?

A bulb conversion could work for you. If you modify the bulb sockets to hold a halogen bulb (like those 50W ones that aftermarket fog lights hold) you'll definately have some bright-*** tails! You'd have to make it so there would be two bulbs side-by-side, a 50W and a 100W so you have running lights and brighter brake/turn signal lights. heat might be a problem if you go this route. On the other hand, you could fabricate a custom bulb out of those big bright-*** LEDs that Police strobes are made with and then a ring of smaller LEDs for the dimmer light....I just came up with an idea for my car club's LED guru to make work! No, I havent even tried the stuf yet. just want to make sure that the Smokeys stay away! Police in my town have been pulling people over for having the black out covers, saying there to dark, which they are. So I'm just being precautious.

I bought so Night Shade as well. My Black outs will go to my wife but I found that if you leave the Reverse Light white they actually buy that they were bought that way and I was left alone for over 2 years even going from AZ to Oregon.

Niteshade when applied correctly (I let my painter do it and he used half of what I did when I tried doing it) lets more then enough light. Really bright tails might get more atten just because of that....

Is it really over doing to have bright tails? I don't know about anyone else, but I want to show people I AM BRAKING! DO NOT HIT ME! If my tail lights are bright and I get rear ended, they won't have an excuse.

All of you looking to get LED's as replacements, check this place out:http://www.superbrightleds.com/mini-wedge.html

Thats where I got all of my LED's from, and yes, you can replace your stock bulbs with LED's, and they are tons brighter! I Niteshaded all of my lenses and I still have most of my stock bulbs in and I have no problems with them not lighting up.....See for yourselves:

Blacked out during day:

At Night:

And yes, those are Blue LED's in the reverse, 13 LED's in One Bulb per side!
I actually got pulled over a couple of nights ago, and the cop said Nothing about any of my Lighting!
