Question about Simple Green? (Already read sticky)
Hey fellas. I've heard many people say that Simple Green is corrosive to aluminum, but what I don't understand is, the entire block is aluminum so how can it be used?
P.S. What do many of you use to clean the intake manifold? To get all that dust and crap off?
Thanks!

It's pretty popular with bowlers using it on bowling equipment to remove oils. Most do a 50/50 mix of SG with 91% alcohol or 50/50 with water to dilute it. I use it straight up 100% and then apply the alcohol to help evaporate the materials quicker.

As for the original question, I always use a 50/50 water to SG mix and rinse THOROUGHLY when using it under the hood. I've also used it on the inner hoops of my old ZR1s with good results. For the intake, I use a microfiber applicator sponge with some Meguiars Natural Shine on it.

Personally I have used nothing but SG on my engine since it was new and always get asked how I keep it looking so clean.
Never had an issue with corrosion, but I always make sure the engine is cool and rinse with water with in 15 minutes. I use it for brake dust too.
