Tried something new... Trunk lighting

I have cold cathode lights in my trunk too. I mounted them to the angled part of the side panels right under where the mat/cover rests and made some reflectors out of aluminum with vinyl on the back-side to blend in better. I tapped into the dome light for power, but still have a switch to turn them on/off because normal fluorescent ballasts don't like to be dimmed (they will be damaged). That way I only turn them on when I need them (but of course the dome light has to be on), but if I forget, the car's power saver feature will turn them off....unfortunately in that case, the "theater dimming" feature may damage the ballast. At least they were cheap.
I'll have to post pics later.
Def post up some pics!! I want to do this, and have it tied into the dome, but also want to have a switch for it! I also want to "blend" it pretty well!

On the dimming feature.. wouldnt the cathode just shut off because of power loss? the power is just cutting off on the dimmer feature so all it would be doing is just cutting the power to the Cathode too even tho the rest of the lights are just dimming due to the type of set up they are on...
Maybe VIP would like to chime in on this....
