Painting calipers question
Since im getting new wheels put on (black w/ alum lip c6 replicas) Im considering painting my calipers silver/grey. But I have stock brakes and rotors, its kind of messy down there. I wont be able to get new pads and stuff till the winter.
Would there be any problem or is it recomended to paint them even if the brakes/rotors are stock?

Hm, good info. I was thinking about buying the caliper painting kit from I think it was afterthoughts cause I figured I would need the brake cleaner.. itcomes to 35dollars, yeesh :/ Or is all thats included in that kit too much for what im tryin to do?
Also not sure on either the color of "cast aluminum" or gloss black, decisions decisions

Just pull everything apart, grind down the rust, sand, clean and paint.
When I did my front brakes I replaced the rotors/pads but you could always just reuse your pads and clean/paint the rotors until you get new ones. I used Dupli-Color silver caliper paint(spray) on the calipers, flat black high temp engine enamel on the brackets and semi-gloss black engine enamel on everything else.
When I did my rears I reused my existing rotors, just painted them up. My pads which only had about 5K miles on them still looked a little nasty so I masked off the pad portion and painted the backs semi-gloss black. I never bothered to take any pics when I did them but they pretty much look the same as the fronts. Whenever I do stuff like this I try to take everything apart as far as I can for painting, IMO the results are worth the extra work.
Here's in work and after shot of mine, I probably went a little further than you plan on but you don't have to go this far...I just get carried away.

ssquid and niknik I am sending you PM's right now.
69vette-I am 50-60 dollars lower than any other powdercoater I know of that advertises on the LSx car forums, period. You get what you pay for, and at the price you charge I'd be curious what you'd get to be honest.

69vette, please keep your comments about Silver Ghost to yourself. He is a sponsor you are not. He is allowed to sell and advertise as well as discuss his pricing, you are not. I know you keep saying your not trying to advertise, but in saying that, you are advertising. One more word from you about your powder coating and your getting a vacation for Non-Sponsor sales. It already looks like you have a hefty amount of feedback from Non-Sponsor Sales, I would keep my trap shut.
Keep this ON TOPIC PLEASE.
