Will a tinted rear window effect the auto dim feature or is the sensor on the front? Even with 4% I flip mine at night.

I have some dark tint on mine and the autodim works fine.

Was a really nice MOD.

Still miss the front lights though. Been looking at putting a small lamp fixture in the front headliner, just haven't found a small unit I liked.

Would you recomend then the one that has auto dim, direction, temp, garage door, and map lights?

Few months back I installed mine on my ss.
I spent less than $20 dollars from the junk yard. Including. Temp sensor, and use the wires that came with it. Mine has temp/auto dim/ compass.
I did the wiring my self , also to make it work properly it has to be calibrated.
I could post pics if you guys interested.
The wiring kit from eBay it's a nice kit but it's almost 40-50 bucks.

My mirror came from a 95 chevy tahoe!

Very old thread

What did you do with the factory wire from the headliner to the mirror?

I just used the ground wire from it for the mirror.
I tucked away the rest.

I think only Gentec offers one like that and it costs around 250 to 300 dollars.
Thats just too much for me.
