You know, I thought about covering the sail panel with vinyl before (cheap way to fix any bubbling panels) to look old school but everyone laughed

it would be pointless and expensive to make an entire new one from CF just so you can "Justify" that you are doing it for a specific reason so the rice police dont bust your ***. I bought a brand new Sail panel from Gm back in the day and it only weighed like 5 pounds, I dont think its gonna be much lighter. The OEM sail panel is Fiberglass. its already light.

-Now if you are going to just wrap it in cf for looks then I say go for it. I love cf. Id prob buy one if it was made.

I would probably be down since I have a hard top but never had any bubbling yet... I'd scrap the roof for CF...

Great Idea

It would be purely for looks. It should also cost significantly less than a GM piece for those of us who NEED to replace the sail panel due to GM's shoddy assembly.

It could also be painted if you aren't in the neighborhood for carbon-fiber and you would never know the difference.

I'd consider it, but I'm afraid that would be a little too much carbon fiber for me, even though I have a T-top car. I already have some stuff. Do you guys think it would be too much on my car?:
Grille:

FRCs, Lid, battery cover:

Dash trim kit & door sills:

CAMARO letters and bowtie:

Charcoal gray stripes are NOT carbon fiber:

i'm talking about a front splitter (based off the 6liter-splitter design, only modified), not a sail panel or roof

I'm still thinking of trying it. I'll just have to get up the nerve.

It's not like I'd be glueing the fabric to the paint. I'm sure I could come up with something better than that.

Yes, it's the RKsport CF grille. I am very happy with it. Fits perfect and great quality. I've had it on my car for about 5 years now. All my CF but the fuel rail covers and lid are from RKsport actually.
The dash kit has since been discontinued though. I got all my stuff about 5 years ago.
