Dutch,
I would give Pro-built a call if you are interested in this. I just talked to Dana there and he knows his stuff. He even told me he would be happy to work with my local builder to get me straight with exactly what I want - that is great service.

My plan is to go to my local builder and talk to him about building what I want using the parts from Pro-built. If Pro-built were local to me, or if he had a core, I would just have him build it, but they are all the way across the country and they don't have any cores.

Hope this helps you out too!! Thanks for the post!

Trans Go makes the kit its called MOD-60 I think. They also make one for the 4L80E called MOD-80. The kits been around for a while now. Maybe since 1993 I think.

Of course. The modulator only removes PCM input for line pressure, NOT shift points.

well, I did the vacum conversion......first day was great, you can really tell the difference when the car downshifts......

second day......BOOM!!!!! same issues i was having before with internal breakage
I think it is time for me to make a switch.....6 4l60's this year is getting to be too much.....time for either a 4l80 or t350/400 and GV OD unit.....
I was so hoping the vaccum would help my issues.....

Dutch, where you gettin your trannies built? I think I wanna stay away from there. As you probably know, the place I PM'd you about is no longer. Don't know where I'm gonna go now. I'm hopin it will hang in through the off season and maybe some other options will come up.

I have found that the vacuum source, and amount have to be right.

It has to be manifold vacuum, and if you have a big cam and low vacuum I don't believe it will work correctly(remember the purpose of manual valve bodies?).

TransGo does make the kit and it installs easily, but you do need a 1/8-NPT tap, and a "R" drill bit to make it work.

I used pro-built fo all my 4L60e parts, including vacuum mod. No problems yet. If you buy from Dana, and install the kit like he says, it seems to work pretty good. He knows his stuff.

i have a 4l60e in a 01 4x4 5.3.i bought the trans go shift kit ,vett servo, vaccum mod.got it from Dana at pro built.haven't installed it yet but the instructions look simple.you have to tap the pan and tie into the power brake line for the vaccum.Dana is very good at what he does and is very helpful.he will mod the instructions of the kit to suit what you want.he specializes in the 4l60e and 700 tranny.i highly recommend him.good luck fellas.
