Will the 6l80 take FI?

Will the 6l80 take FI?

Would I be better off to buy an 05 c6 to get the proven 4l65 or should I get the c6 a6? From what I can read the 6l80 seems to be a good tranny but due to the fact they are new people are still experimenting, learning, and developing stuff for them. I would like to have an aps turbo kit on my car someday and want to make sure I have a tranny that can be built to handle the power. Maybe by the time I have the $ for FI someone like rpm will have a program for the 6l80. So my question is should I go ahead and get the 6l80car or should I get the 4l65 car.

Good question and only time will answer that question. I would get the 05 just because I have that combo running in the low 9's. Like anything it costs to go fast so that is a hard question to answer. There is talk that the software for the 06 is available but I have not seen nor confirmed it at this point. If the 6L80E lives under the pressure than it would be a better choice, plus you have a newer car. I wonder how long until we see 6L90E swaps.

Probably not long until the 6L90 gets more popular with their use in the CTS-V @ 555HP, and people see them as not just a truck trans

There are a few 6L90's around now behind LS7's etc.

You don't have to wonder, it's already been done and being done...LOL

Just go to Conversions & Hybrids and do a search on 6L90E.

See if you don't find that rsz288 has a 6L90E build up and running.

Honestly right now my attainable dream car would be a 09 Corvette Coupe, Z06 fenders, with a TT forged LS3 and a paddle shifted 6L90E with a 3.42 Z06 rear end.
