Default vent tube puking tranny fluid?!?

ok i recently rebuilt my 94 4l60e about a month or so ago, and ever since then its been leaking tranny fluid. it has been leaving decent puddles under the car. I first thought it was the pan bolts and retourqed them all with no luck.today i finally jacked it up and cleaned everything off and couldnt find a leak. so i still didnt see where it could be coming from. so i cranked it up and noticed while running its has a constant drip coming from the vent tube hose. What would cause this? i have only seen this happen on an overfilled tranny and mine was barely registering on the dipstick so i know its low. any advice?

any sponsors want to clue me in on exactly where the vent tube actually vents from inside the tranny? i temporarily fixed it by running a long vac hose from the vent to the dipstic tube and drilled a small hole and added a small vac tee so when its puking it goes back in the tranny and vents at the same time.i dont like it but it works.lol

Just a thought, are you checking the fluid when the car is running and warm, or when its cold and not running? That will produce 2 different readings.

Overfilling or a damaged converter with bent blades that will mix oil and air together and cause this kind of leak from vent

Well it did it with my TCI converter and my SS 4000. And judging by the 60fts and the fact it lifts a 17in wheel dont think thats it. The only time it doesnt drip the trans is so low it wont shift into 3rd sometimes.

My TH350 in my BBC drag car was doing that, it resulted in this:

I'm not sure what caused it. My advice, pull it out, and figure it out while you still can.

dam what the fudge ...caught fire?!? but anyhoo yeah mine runs great and yeah fluid is checked with motor running and warm lmao.it cannot be the convertor on mine because it didnt do this before i rebuilt my tranny. i only lost fourth gear and didnt tear anything up to cause itbefore the rebuild. keep the causes coming. there has to be some other reason for this..

Yeah, trans fluid from the vent tube got on the exhaust, and up in flames it went.

Put a catch can on it. Check fluid levels of both regularly.

Where is the fliud on the dip. Try Filling only to bottom of full line. Sometimes its all it takes. GL

WOW...I cant believe there are no solid answers for this...other than overfilling and bent turbine fins in the vert...
