Default Problem... 2nd to 3rd no shift...

ok... My car is a 240sx, with an LS1 swap... my 4L60e is acting up, and I don't know what could be the problem...

First of all, there are no shifts from second to third, but thats not the only thing... while still accelerating waiting for it to shift to third, I finally realise it won't shift so I take my foot off the throttle, then I come back on the throttle just to find that now its revving up without the car accelerating as if its slipping...?!?!

I once smelled the smell of a burning MANUAL CLUTCH, does the Auto tranny clutchs smell the same?!

Keep in mind this is the first time I drive my car, and the tranny was taken out of a car that recently got wrecked while its tranny was perfectly working...

From the sound of it you have a failed 3-4 clutch set . and yes the smell is similar

why would that happen? what could have been the reason? heat, excess power? whats the usual cause?

As I said before my car is a 240sx, and as we know it ain't heavy, so what can I do to the tranny to beef it up a bit as I'm very tight on money... Converter and Clutches are enough?! what else should I go with?!

(Don't forget to mention what could have hurt my transmission! I have an after market cooler, and this is still the first couple of launches in it, and they aren't WOT... just regular crusing... for the first time after the Camaro was wrecked)

Thanks

Anything from the clutches just died to the snap ring broke out of the drum , You would have to tear it down to find out anything else

yeah but usually... is it heat related... I just wana know that so I know if my cooler is sufficient enough... and I also need to ask you about how I could fix this... my problem though is that Im in the middle east, and shipping a transmission to me will cost 2000$ for shipping only... lol... so this is way out of the question... what else can I do? I have a mechanic here who is GREAT with Auto Transmissions... but does PerformaBuilt sell internals without the whole tranny...?!

Actually we ship to the middle east on a regular basis shipping is around 600 dollars US +-.
And no its not likely heat related as that a slow killer but a sudden one,
And no unfortunately we do not sell parts at present

I really like ur transmissions and I've heard good comments... but Im really way out of the margin of the prices even for the stage1, and shipping ain't helping, Im not being cheap I just truthfully don't have the money as I am still trying to graduate from college... so If anyone here actually ever did rebuild his transmission please refer me to the parts used and results of what he has used. I need to purchase the parts for my mechanic to do the Job here in my country which saves me 600 on shipping, and a couple more bucks on the transmission itself...

(Labour here is extremely cheap, I finished my LS1 swap on the 240sx with the Auto transmission for around 6000$, including price of car, engine, tranny, labour, gto oil pan, bla bla everything, even tow truck fees included hehehe)

ok, suddenly my 3rd gear started working... I was surprised "BUT HAPPY" anyhow I still didn't install my 02 sensors... and my car seems waaaay under powered... I mean it dosn't even spin in first gear... (240sx ls1 swap 4l60e tranny) could all that power loss be from my 02 sensors? I personally doubt it, but I've never encountered a situation where I've actually unplugged the 02's and compaired... anyhow, my car dosn't even downshift if I go WOT on 3rd gear...

You still have some issues I would say now control/programing or sensor issues wit the PCM you need to get a scanner on it and monitor whats happening
