Hey guy how do u a4 guys race from a roll I've been tryin two way leavin it in D or 3rd. Or say on a 40 roll puting it 2nd. I usually lose when in D because of the kick down n then I'm playin catch up when in second its a differnt story. I don't have a stall yet but any advice u guyz have is much appreciated thanks!

i will pull mine down to second for roll races(30-60mph). as soon as im on the gas i click it to drive bc if you wait for the revs to climb then click it then it wont shift and you will SLAM the rev limiter and lose the race.

i hit a button i wired in that switches to a different set of shift tables ("performance") that i have edited in my tune. it then drops me into the gear i want with the converter unlocked (you don't hear the downshift or rpm's go up). when i mash the pedal, i'm already stalled up in the right gear.
if you want to roll race in your auto, get a converter. 100+ shot of nitrous helps kill the dead spots too.

A built one from a sponsor might be able to handle the stress a little better.

I have always heard that manually downshifting a stock 4L60E is hard on the transmission. Not that it'll break it obviously but that it'll help to shorten it's lifespan which is short enough as it is.

yeah probally very true since my tranny is kinda messed up now (it wont shift into 3rd under WOT, but driving normal its fine)... but i would rather downshift and win than not. i leave it in drive(3rd) at the track tho i just downshift to 2nd on the street cuz i have no low end since my long tubes for some reason

I used to have a TCI 3500 and my dead spot was very much improved but likewise still noticeable. Now I have a 4400 stall and the dead spot is gone.
The higher you go in stall size the better the dead spot becomes. On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being a stock stall deadspot and 10 being an eliminated dead spot, I would rate it is follows:
3000 stall = 5
3500 stall = 7
4000 stall = 9
That's the best I can explain it. My advice is to get at least a 3600 stall. 3600-4000 is a good size even for bolt on cars and N20 users.
Hope that helps.
