Default What stall speed?

I am buying a stall and some 3.73s soon and was wondering what stall speed I should go with. I have the regular bolt-ons and will be adding some drs before the stall and gears. Anyone have any advice?

Depends on your goals...for excellent street manners on a mostly street car, you can't beat the Yank SS3600 or SS4000, especially since you're going with 3.73's. If you're wanting a max effort street/strip setup, the Yank PT series are monsters. I DD a PT4400 and wouldn't have it any other way. It's somewhat loose, but very streetable (this is with 3.23's). It shines everywhere, but especially on the topend. I had the SS4000 before, and it was a great street converter, but I wanted ***** to the wall and the PT4400 delivers exactly that.

Bottom line: with 3.73's, 3600-4000 is a great range to look at for street duty, 4000-4400 for track duty. ( This is assuming bolt-ons and possibly cam or heads/cam combos)

I'm looking at the circle d 3c stall speed of 3500-3700. I am thinking that is the one I will go with cuz I love to cruise the streets.

I have 3:73's coupled to a Yank Y3000 2.0STR, and if I had it to do over I would go with a 3600 stall.

I had a Yank SS3600 with 3.73's, and it was pretty tame on the street, and would go like a rocket when I got in it.

I'd go no less than 3600 on a LS1 F-Body. Yank, Circle-D, & Vig are all great converters

I'm kinda stuck trying to decide between a 4000 and 3600 stall. I want something that will be nice and streetable, but still haul *** when I want it too.

How does that converter act on the street? Is the difference between a 4000 and 3600 that extreme?

Swift 1,
With one of our SRLS series 10" billet converters built for your application you should see .7 to .8 tenths gain. The converter will be very streetable. The stall would be set at 3800. For pics and info visit our website at www.fticonverters.com or give me a call at 1-866-726-8358. see what our customers say:https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...onverters.html

Thanks,
Greg

thats my setup!! im running a vigilante 3200 with 3.73 and it is perfect for a daily driver. i know guys that daily driver 3600+ stalls. but i just wanted my car to drive and feel close to stock as much as possible. my car never sees the track and im not out to set records.. just a fun reliable street car.
