Default Converter or not?

Hey guys, I'm in a little situation here. I just traded my truck for a 99's SS. Anyway its got a few bolt-ons and a TSP 231/237 cam...(Can anyone help me with the specs on this cam? I can't find anything on it.) Well it has a stock stall and it really needs a stall, it is drive-able...but when I put it in gear it wants to die and tries to run through the brakes but like I said its tolerable. To get to my point the car runs strong and great but is slugish taking off at WOT, so in that case I have no problems with spinning from a dig . It really pulls hard around 1800+ and the *** end gets a little loose when it goes into 2nd other than that its great. I'm just worried about it not ever going to be able to hook up. Any input on this will be helpful, I'm all ears.

Just run DRs or a regular Nitto 555 or BFG tire in a 275 or wider. I would get a stall that it at least in 3600 stall range. I'm personally going with a 4000-4400 stall.

What are your plans for it? Are you going to spray it? I would talk to Circle D, Yank or Vig... about your goals

If I were you, I would get a stall. I'm assuming you have an a4 seeing that you asking about a stall. If you decide to get a stall, a 3200 stall probably will suit your needs. Some guys here run much bigger stalls but you can't go wrong with at least a 3200. It's all up to you bro. Also, if you wanna hook, get some drag radials like nitto 555r or mickey t's. Mickey T's hook better. I just got some nitto 555r II's in the rear. Haven't really got into them yet.

Thanks bro, I didn't do any work to it the guy before me did and he did a great job lol. It already has Nitto 555R's in there rear. I plan on in the future building a 408 stroker for it but I'm sure that will be a while from now. I'm just wanting to get into the low to mid 11's. I'm very impressed with how it runs right now. Too bad most the tracks here are shut down for the year

I'm also aware it will take some money to get that fast...I was planning on going with a 3600, but then got to thinking. I think I'll go ahead and get a 3600 here in the next couple of weeks as the money allows. I'm sure I'm not the only broke MF'er on here

I'm really undecided man about the spray...I'm sure my friend will talk me into a 75-100 shot but nothing major as I'm too much of a pansy to even have it on the car , I've just seen way too many backfires. Right now it has

-LS6 intake
-LS6 heads
-Comp 918's springs
-Pacesetter LT's
-TSP 3" ORY
-MTI clear LID
-TSP 231/237 cam (I don't know the specs)
-3.73's
-TSP Tuned
-Nitto 555R's in there rear

and they are 275/40/17's

Thanks for the input also guys, I know I'm just getting my post count up . I'm pretty excited about getting a stall my friend said it should run a hell of a lot better and should run high 11's. Is that possible with the set-up on it now?

Dear Clueless in AZ,

Dry shots add fuel after the N2O passes through the MAF. Have a great day.

actually, backfires normally occur when there is not enough fuel to burn all the n2o, causing a massive "leaning" out effect.

Thats the whole POINT of a wet kit on an efi car, puddling is very rare.

stupid ******* arizona resident.

I think I'll go with the 3600 PI, Circle D, etc I've heard nothing but the best about circle D. And hopefully a Lvl 2 tranny as soon as I can scrape up the money

I would recommend a Circle D 3C billet street/strip series. It is rated 3500-3700 stall and will really wake the car up. It will address all the weak areas you mentioned, and it will feel like a different car. It has the billet front and piston, so it is very strong. I have a lot of guys running this converter on the street with no problems. You gas milage might drop about 1 MPG, hardly noticeable. Give me a call if you have any questions or shoot me a PM.
