Default Transmission Problem

I had a shop put a flt built 4L60E transmission in my car and everything was fine for awhile but now when I floor it, it will not shift from 1 to 2. Does that mean the clutch packs or whatever have already gone out? I have not beat on the car at all since I have to drive it to school and work everyday. It hasn't even been launched from a stop or taken to the track. I checked the fluid level and it all looked good also.

It could be a simple electrical problem. Check the codes and verify your speedometer is working.

Well I don't have anything to check the codes with but the speedometer IS working correctly. Also if i try to just give it a little gas to start going from like 5 mph it revs up then it will go in 2nd gear. If that makes sense.

The transmission uses vehicle speed and TPS for normal upshifts. At 100pct throttle it uses RPM speed and Throttle. So if any of these are not working it does not know what to do. Alot of time when it will not make a 1-2 at 100 pct throttle It is usually an engine performance problem. If you hold it wide-open what RPM does it reach? If it sits and lets say 5100, and does not go past that then it will never upshift until you lift out. Check to see what peak rpm you are reaching.

I just went out and when I floor it from 1st it never stops, It went all the way to about 6100 then I let off because it never shifts. When it was first in it would shift hard enough to break the tires loose on the 1-2 shift. Also at about 40 mph it will shift to overdrive and the whole car will shudder if you try to accelerate so Ive been keeping it in just drive unless I get on the highway then I will shift to overdrive. It seems like all the shifts are a little weaker now. It use to snap your neck just driving around town, now it doesn't.

Sounds like time to check the flt warranty.

Well I would, but the shop already had the transmission. And I bought it from them while they had my car so they could put it in. So I guess I don't have a warranty, and I'm screwed.
