Default Hurst Quarter Stick VS B&M Pro Ratchet for a 4L60

i just bought an 02 Z, and i have an unending hate for Camaro auto shifters.

I was just wondering what the differences/ advantages/ disadvantages between the Hurst Quarter stick and B&M pro are.

I searched it, but i didn't find what i was looking for.

I would like to use the auto uppper console if possible, with as little hacking as i can.

If someone could give me a quick rundown of the two, with pictures, that would be great.

From what i've seen, i like the Hurst more, and it seems to go in with less cutting.

i don't see why not. the shift **** is just screwed on. i think you could put whatever you want on there as long as the threads are the same. the Hurst quarter stick is 7/16-20 in. according to Summit

The actual **** (white) is just threaded. Just like an M6 ****.
And, if you look at the pics of the Hurst, ^^^^, you'll see a lever in front of the actual shifter handle. that's how you get it out of park and upshift / downshift

i'll let Hurst do the talking for a bit. Here's a link to the operation guide.

page 6 goes into detail about shifting

so will the B&M or hurst fit on a 4L60E? It doesn't say it will, it says like TH350 and TH400. Or is it similar enough to the 700r4 that it will work

here is the Hurst shifter that summit sells for a 700r4.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Correct me if i'm wrong, but the only difference between the 700r4 and the 4L60e is that the 4L60e is shifted via computer,(hence the "e" for electronic) where the 700r4 is shifted manually. the shift pattern is the exact same.

as shown here on the B&M, it will fit a 4L60

hope this helps
