Question 4l60E issue racing a 01 lightning

So I was racing my buddies 01 Lightning last night and my car was acting funny, around 90 mph my service engine light came on so I let off the gas. After this I hit the gas again and it would not down shift like it would normally do when you punch it. I then got to town and she didn't want to shift from 2nd to 3rd unless I let off the gas and then gave it a goose. Then it purceeded to shift. I've had the tranny go out about 4 years ago and it's been rebuilt with a shift kit. I started the car up today and took it for a ride and it drove just fine. My buddy said he looked up online and it said something about a perservative measure that the computer does so the car doesn't get f'd up. I took it and had the computer read and they said that my left o2 sensor was lean and that my throttle temp sensor showed up as well. I need some input on what the hell is going on. Does my car need a tune, Is my tranny garbage, Is there an electronic issue with the tranny, what's going on???? A friend of mine has a th400 tranny that a can get for cheap. Will this be better than the 4l60E and what conversion do I have to do to make this work. What would be my best route and tranny selection????? I'm looking to push 600 hp when I stroke the motor and throw a 150 shot on it. I need it to last but in the mean time I need to know what the hell's going on...

I think you might mean a throttle position sensor error. If that is the case then that will cause the problem you described. Codes will reset when you cycle the ignition as long as the problem is not still present. You'll definitely want to strengthen your transmission up if you go to 600hp. T400 are stronger but you loose the low first gear and overdrive.

Yeah I meant throttle position sensor! So should I changethis out? I just put on a 58mm BBK TB about 2 weeks ago and used my stock sensor. Is it bad or is it not compatiable for the use of a bigger throttle body with out a tune? Just looking for ideas! What do you suggest for a tranny with these goals in mind???

Could be either , I would change the sensor first but you also may need to change the calibration in tuning .

But something like this could have this effect with the tranny? Sounds crazy to me that the tranny would act like this because of a throttle problem....

Actually the PCM which controls the trans needs input from many sources.
TPS
MAF
VSS
PRNDLE
and more this is how the PCM knows when to kick down , shift, ajust pressure and control lockup, So any change you make in engine performance can affect the transmission function.

Roger that!!! Do you think that a turbo 400 would be a wise choice in this car and if so would I be able to slap it right in or no. Never messed with a tranny before. Just curious on what you suggest!

You would have to shorten the drive shaft. Relocate te torque arm. Loose overdrive and lockup , I think I would fix the tuning sensor issue myself and keep the 60e

How much power can the 4l60E handle in your opinion? I'm lloking to make my LT1 a 383 stroker with the cc306 cam and toping it off with my ported and polished LT1 heads. I would like to give it some juice occasionally, around 150 shot! I know i'll have to beef up the suspension but I don't want to waste any more money on this tranny if it's not going to handle it, you know! I mean if it will handle it then so be it but I don't know tranny's

Wel have people running then consistently long term several years in the low tens verified and some have claimed lower. Now if you asking if the trans you have right now can handle it.If its stock probably not, A trans from us or the other vendors here I would say certainly yes.
Many are running the 60e in the 400-500-600 and more range and doing well if they are properly built by people who have learned what works and what does not.

So how much do you all charge for the 4l60E to be completely built for the most this particular tranny can handle.
