Default Rebuilt 4L60E with New Converter Problems

Alright, So my 4L60E blew last November after owning the car fro 2 months. The Previous owner had put a Transgo Shift kit, and a Yank 3600 Stall in it. After we opened it up, a couple of my clutchpacks were scorched, I blew the pump and converter.

The New setup is a brand new pump, about 7 new clutchpacks,a brand new Yank ST2800 Stall, Royal Purple ATF, TCI Deep Pan with Filter, and all new gaskets and seals in the transmission.

It's been running again for about 12 days, and it's been running great. However, I feel like i'm going to start having problems again because something just doesn't feel right in 3rd gear cruising at around 2600 rpms, because they'll drop to about 2400 rpms without me letting off the pedal, or shifting. Is that the converter?

Also, I've been looking at a local Shop called "Speed Inc." and they say removing Torque management on a 4L60E is a MUST with an aftermarket converter, but do Camaro's even have torque management? They use HPtuners for what's called a "Basic Tune" and they removie torque management, optimize shift points, and change other basic things such as blocking o2 sensors, and changing Fan Temps for about $150.

Should I do this? Because I can understand the fact that my PCM thinks that I have the stock 2100 or 2200 Stall, when I dont.

Thank you!

A tune would be a very good idea and just sounds like your going in and out of lockup . I would not be too concerned

Oh, thank you so much. I've been terrified that it's going to blow again because I haven't tuned it yet. I'm going to do it as soon as I can.

Will I feel any difference with the tune?

Also, do Camaro's have Torque management?

Alright, Thanks.

Any difference in how the car will drive/shift with the tune?

^^^ Hard to say? Depends on how good your tuner is and what experience they have with LS1's and stalls?? At least it should get rid of your limp mode problems. Go look at the tech thread a few down from here made by Performabuilt...it has a wealth of info!!!!!

The rpm drop in third is the converter locking up, it does unlock right before the 4th shift, and locks again after the fourth shift.
So you feel this: 3rd shift->tcc apply->tcc release->4th shift->tcc apply.

I eliminated tcc apply in 3rd. Also deleted torque management in the engine and transmission.
I've read write up's on this site a long time ago that walked you through how to partially eliminate TM. At that point I stopped reading write ups seeing how it was a sticky with incorrect information in it.
