Default Shopping for stall... (what would you get?)

Ok guys, I need a stall and I def don't want to buy the wrong one. I have a 3.23 car with a MS3 cam (free mods) and headers. The car is NOT my DD, but I am not wanting just a 1/4mile drag car, but I would like to run a good time. More importantly, I LOVE my top end and Id like to be comfortable with driving on the interstate to go to shows and in town. What is MY best bet for a stall? -thanks, Ronnie

I would suggest 2 options for you.

The 2C - rated at 3200-3400, good street manors and good performance.

The 3C - Rated as 3500-3700, Decent street manors and better performance.

I would lean to the 3C because the LS's really like the high stall converters. You could also change out your gears for some 3.73 and it will make the converter feel better with light throttle. If you are planning on getting gears, then the 4C might even be an option. Please call or PM if you have any other questions.

Future goals? I'll most likely do heads, intake, TB eventually. But I want to do breaks/rotors/12 bolt first. I only see the track maybe once a year, so my car wont even see any DR's. Sure it would be nice to say it runs 11's but mainly I just want a mean & clean weekend/summer ride.

Being the car is not a DD I would run something in the 4000 range. You will notice it on the street. For more street manners a 3600 would drive nicer. Check out our SRLS series billet 9.5" lock up converters. 3 year warranty. Give me a call at 1-866-726-8358 or send me a pm. These converters have special pricing for LS board users.

If topend is important, look no further than the Yank PT series. I run the PT4400 with 3.23's and absolutely love it, but the PT4000 is supposed to really cook as well. I had an SS4000 before this and I liked it alot, but it can't touch the PT. It really, really shines from a roll. I put the cam in and really wasn't too impressed after spending all the money and time installing everything. Shortly thereafter, I installed the PT and it woke the car up like you wouldn't believe. I felt like I gained more from the converter swap than I did from the cam swap. Yank checked the SS4000 and said it was fine, so no issues there. The PT just plains rocks and has crazy shift extension. I think it would be the perfect addition to your cam. Give Yank a call...you won't be disappointed!

PI VIG 3600 (actually stalls around 4000).... just installed mine a few weeks ago and love it! Its my summer DD and track car....... drives like stock (not overexagerating actually starts moving at about 1200 rpm) until you mash it then hold on!
