Stall Converter Bolts
You have to remove the starter.
Then you will have access to the converter bolts. If possible have a buddy put a socket on a breaker bar and hold the crank by the front crank bolt while you bust the converter bolts loose.

My mechanic dropped the head pipes, removed drive shaft, strapped trans to a trans jack, removed bell housing bolts, slid trans down and back a few inches, removed converter bolts, converter and re-installed everyting.
Time: one hour and forty five minutes.

I would not call him a "Super Mechanic"; he just didn't stop or screw around. I watched and timed him. Other mechanics have given me "estimates" and told me they would need the car all day. You know, the kind that has big ads in the Yellow Pages. I would still be using my "Fast Mechanic" but he got killed in a street race several years ago down in LA.
