I wish I had a better dipstick as well. I have one of the flex dipsticks and its always a pain to get to.

After breaking the case on my th350. I stepped up to the th400. Never had a problem since but the car doesn't get many miles at all. I just thought that since i'm having to get some trans I might as well get overkill.

I'll probably be picking one up when I get some extra money for a converter. Hopefully this will be the last time I pull the trans for a good long while after I swap converters.

Just thought i'd chime in. (I am 90% done with my M6->TH400 conversion.) I went with the Hughes flexplate. It is slightly concave so it has the proper offset so larger converter bolts will hit the oil pan. It also has a selection of converter holes/spacings so you dont have to hog out the holes so the converter mounting holes line up. My converter lined up perfectly with no modifications. Also, I didnt need any spacers between the converter and flexplate to get the proper depth in into the pump. (I have seen several people on this forum that have to hog out the TCI flexplate as well as the Speed Inc one.)

My converter bolted right up to my TCI with no issues. But that isn't saying other people didn't have problems

Thats good to know. There mush be a lot of variances with the various TC's.

Just curious, did you have to use converter bolts with low profile heads like some other have had to?

Not knocking the madman dipstick tube but from my experience with the stock dipstick tube was pretty rough, I planned to get a long lokar flexible tube. Explain?

What kind of torque arm do you have? If you still have the factory one you are going to have to get a different tranny mount that will relocate the torque arm to that mount and move it off the tranny.

Yeah, you'll need a mount a crossmember that has the relocation bracket on it for the torque arm. You might be able to have someone weld you on a bracket if you already have a crossmember. Or if you're still on the stock one it would be a good time to upgrade to one that's a chassis mount and then you wouldn't have to worry about it. I have a converter for a th350/400 I'd let go for cheap, but from what I've read some good brands to go with are Circle D and Yank. I chose FTI for my newest one and I'm pretty happy with it.

The m6 and th400 crossmember should be the same. Also unless the feet on the converter aren't in the right place the tci bolts up just fine. And last I have a flexible dipstick right now and it is a joke.

Speed Inc or the one from TCI. As far as the adapter it depends on how far the center hub of the converter sits in the flexplate. The company I spec'd my TH350 converter through built it specifically to bolt to an LS1
