Default How many of you are running a B&M 28K GVW tranny cooler?

Just curious if it fits and if it did, was it a pain to intall and was it a tight fit? Also, was there any cutting, removing, relocating, etc. of anything to make it fit? Lastly, if anyone is using this big of a cooler with the FTRA and not having to modify it one bit? Thanks

i've had my 28k on for about a month now, and had no problems at all with the fit. it is nice and snug at the top and i just used two cooler tiedowns at the botom and its not going anywhere. the only problem i have had was that i didnt get the two fittings tight enough and i got some leaks around the threads, but that was my fault. make sure those are tight if you get one, it was a mess taking it all apart after i thought i was done. this thing does work though, if im at 185 when i get on the highway it only takes a minute or two to get the temps down to 150. i think the fittings and everything else ended up costing about $25-30 so make sure you figure that in.

Anyone running a 28K GVW cooler with a FTRA? If so, where about did you mount it? Is it possible to run one and the ram air kit with little or no modifying? Thanks

YES IT IS VERY EASY TO RUN IT WITH VERY LITTLE MODIFYING, BUT IT IS A TIGHT FIT AND TAKES A LOT OF PATIENCE

a 19k GVW will fit w/no cutting... 24K GVW i'm not sure about... but I think it'll fit w/out cutting... the 28K you're going to need to cut the FTRA unless you find another place to mount it... and there really isn't a better place than right in front of the radiator above the air damm

Yah, I use the 28k and it's kinda tight in there, but it'll fit. With a ram air kit, it's going to be really hard to get it in there.

mine is either 26 or 28k, whatever the biggest B&M had to offer....and i took the windshield washer resivoire out and cut the black plastic piece there and mounted it to the metal bracket behind where the washer resivoire used to be. i hope u guys understand my crappy description, i wish i had pics. oh....to run the lines to it i just drilled two holes in the top of the black air dam and ran them through. the fittings are pretty much at the top of the airdam.

I have seen pics of tranny coolers installed underneath the blinker light. Looked good but I would assume WILWAXU setup would be more efficient.

Also with the setup I mentioned above, I don't know what size cooler they used and also it would suck if you got into a fender bender cause the cooler is gonna get crushed
