What one to get?
What one to get? Sorry for the super general but I wanna know what you guys think I should get for a converter for my T/A? I don't have a clue about anything in this field so I dont' what determines what is good and what isn't but hopefully you guys can help.

Most everybody will tell you the same thing, get at least a 3000 stall...most people regret not getting a 3500 or looser converter. The TCI is converter is hard to beat. There are a few of the LS1Tech sponsors that carry TCI converters. You might shop around for the best price.

there are several questions that need to be answered before you determine which converter to go with. First off, is this a daily driver? Is it for street use, track use or both? Whats mods do you have now and what mods do you plan on doing in the future? N20? What are your current 60ft times?

right now I haven't done anything to this car. I plan on putting a SC, headers, exaust, and cam but thats WAYYYY down the road I want to do some appearance mods before I get hot and heavy into engine mods. I want this converter to help get the car a better start off the line and just overall performance. Its a daily driver but I leave for the Air Force in 2 months...plus I live in MN so snow will be here soon so my beater will be my main travel soon.

I would suggest the Precision Industries Vigilante 3200 RPM converter for you. I would also suggest that you invest in a transmission oil cooler also, the bigger the better. The Vig 3200 is a great converter for a daily driver, it's very tight like your stock converter and it will give you much better 60ft times. The 60ft times you see in my signature were with that converter and I never had any problems with it. When you do go with the SC and cam you will need a different converter but as you said that's down the road. If you are looking for a much better 60ft then I would also suggest getting some MT ET Streets or the equivalant Hoosier tire but you will have to cautious of the stock 10 bolt rear end.

hows that 3.42 rear with nitto's holding up on yah? I'm bout to put a new slp take off zexel, cover, gm genuine 3.42 ,and ratech deluxe install kit on mine, just curious as you've been spraying (out of the hole?) how the 10 bolt holds up to that. any gear whine yet or brokens?

Boom is correct, guys run in the 12's all day long with Nitto's or BFG drag radials. A friend of mine went 12.9 in a stock 99 Z28 last weekend on the BFG's. Just lower the air pressure down to about 20LBS and your all set. That doesn't guarantee that the 10 bolt will hold up, it's the weakest link in these cars.

Are those 60' times in your sig N/A or N2O? I'm unhappy with my current setup, and I am thinking of switching to a Vig 3200 or 3600.
