What kind of RPMs can the engine turn? That looks like a high revving cam but your MPH isn't so great considering your setup.

IMHO the MPH looks dead on, how much does the car weigh?

I think it's the 60 foot where he could use improvement.

The car weights 3480 with me in it. The car still needs a little more tuning but mph i thought was not bad. this was on et streets.

I would try to run it on a full slick, I think you should have a high 1.4 with that setup.

So, what kind of RPM are we trying for and why be satisfied with 121 MPH out of a heads/cam car with a HUGE cam and 4.10 gears? I'm not saying it's a bad MPH. I just think it could be a little better and I'm looking to figure out what it would take to get there. Afterall, isn't that why he started this thread? He's looking to improve.

I'm not sure I would be in a hurry to switch either w/o knowing the DA and tuning used.

If you were to switch, The YTP 4400 is still king in my book. The PS4400 would be a possibility if ET and not MPH is the prime concern.

Its not worth the $$$ or the time.Just put a set of boots under the car and go run some 10's.....

I'd like to know the weather too.
That would be of great help...

Colonel, what do you feel his setup should be running??? What would you suggest for him to get there? I ask because I have a bigger setup than what he has and I don't feel I am running where I should. I definalety need tuning and I realize that but am not sure how much that will add to my trap mph. PM me if you want and I can go over mysetup and see what you might suggest.

I still say get the slicks and dial in the suspension. You have to realize he's running 700 feet above sea level at least I think thats what the Chicago area is like.

Look, I didn't enter this thread to debate the cost effectiveness of changing converters. Why? Because that's not what he asked. Let's review what he DID ask...

"What yank would you feel is the way to go."

"What converter and what gains."

Nowhere in his post did I see him ask for opinions on whether swapping converters would be cost effective and since "cost effective" is an opinionated thing, only he can decide what is cost effective to him. All we can do is throw the facts out there and let HIM decide whether he wants to do it or not.

Now, what RPM do you think the engine will turn? Ahh...nevermind. Just leave the car like it is and toss on some slicks.

"what do you feel his setup should be running???"

10.7s at 125 MPH. Yank converter, traction, optimization of the combination, better DA, a little weight reduction.

Damn, the Colonel nailed it! Truth can be so cold sometimes, but infomation can also be your friend. A Yank Pro Thruster 4400 will most definitely make the best use of this high winding motor.

The reason i bring up changing to a yank is you always hear how vig is not efficient. Now if i could be convinced that a yank would give me say .3 tents and some mph then hell yes i'll spend the money. As for rpm's were i shift is 6700 that seems to be the sweet spot. Slicks for next year for sure with rear suspenion mods not that i don't have any but there is room for improvement. Yank users seen to be very happy and run some good numbers as well. It's a lot of money not to know what the diffrence will be.

A .3 gain going from a Vig 3600 to a YTP 4400 is not a realistic expectation. If that is what you are hoping for, I would stay put. If you are trying to squeeze the last tenth out, then a switch might help you.

I think I already told u that too but it looks like the tech police are trying to sell parts again.

U are NOT at a -DA,Run the car at a ZERO DA and put real boots on it (NOT ET STREETS) and the car will run 10's at better than 122 and at 3450lbs.

U cant beat that with a stick...

You wont get more than a .1/1 MPH from the verter change.I tried them both and IMO its just not worth it.
