6L80E Swap Questions
6L80E Swap Questions I’m looking to swap a 6l80E behind the 2005 6.0L LQ4 that I have. I think I would need to change the PCM to an E40 from a LS2 GTO (supports 24x reluctor wheel). My main questions are:
1. Am I correct on the ECM that I would need?
2. Is the Internal trans computer in the 6L80E compatible with the E38 PCM and TCM
3. Is the TCM even needed for the swap?
4. Is there anything I would need to change, besides the ECM connectors?
I just want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I go investing in this, and end up with a pile of new parts I can’t use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 6L80/90 has a built in controller that communicates with EMC, so what would be the purpose of or, need for TCI controller too?
