Question concerning TC change

Hi everyone;

Very shortly I will have my stock TC swapped out with a Yank 3000 (I already have 3.73 gears). I have purchased a TransGo shift kit, and after the install, I am going to have my car dyno tuned with the shop using LS1 edit. Here is my questions:

Will I need to have the shift points changed with LS1 edit, or will the TransGo shift kit take care of that function mechanically?

Does changing the shift points have anything to do with increasing the line pressure?

Thanks in advance.

You want have to mess with your shift points at all or atleast I didnt. Should be just fine. You might want to bump the rev limiter up just a tad though but thats up to you. Good Luck

I ran my Formula for months on the stock tune and a PT-4400. (HPP wasn't out yet). Car went 12.07

But like everything.. every car is a little different.

If your going to get LS1 edit then i would bump the shift points up to about 6200rpm. Mine is fine but if i could change my shift points for free i would bump them up a bit even before the cam. I think it would help alittle.Most of the time after a gear change it will mess up the shift points.

So this means put your shift points should generally as high as you can (and feel safe) with a stock cam? I'd heard once you should shift just a few hundred over peak hp. What are the stock shift points? Any other thoughts on shift points on stock cams? This is interesting to me. Thanks.
