ATF leak at the output shaft; it's not the seal.
Last year I replaced my steel driveshaft with a low mileage aluminum one from a 6-speed LS1 Camaro into my car and it fit and worked great, no leaks or any other issues at all. Earlier this year I had my trans rebuilt. While it was there they also replaced the u-joints. When I got it back, there was fluid leaking from the output shaft. I took it back, they replaced the seal, and it still leaked. I took it back again, they replaced the seal again, leak is still there. They said that the driveshaft appears to be too short, that not enough length of yoke is going into the trans. This shaft worked fine and didn't leak a drop until the tranny shop got a hold of it; now there is fluid in my driveway and on the underside of my car. What could be going on here?

It may be leaking out the center of the yoke, At the end of the spline there is a cap to keep fluid from leaking out of the yoke, Some times people push the drive shaft to hard into the trans and the output shaft hits the cap pushing it out causing it to leak fluid out the end of the shaft.

Take a look at the housing to check for cracks. Also there is a possibility that the builder rolled or forgot to install the seal between the main case and the extension housing. Just a couple more ideas. Vince B
