Post Vids of Driving with you Converter I know I'm not the only one afraid to put a big stall in a daily driver even though I hear everyone say that it is still drivabe. So can anyone take vids from inside there car that is aimed at the tach and the road so that everyone can get an understanding as to how loose a converter is? I'm only looking for daily driving - slow driving on the street; no racing from stop light to stop light. So go make some vids and post up what converter you have; I'm hoping to see some Yank SS3600-4000.

I have a Yank SS3800 with 3.73 gears.
I can tell you taking off from a normal stop, your RPM's will hang right around 2500 most of the time. It really depends a lot on how heavy you are on the gas though. A little throttle might change the RPM's by 400RPM's, and you aren't speeding up at much faster of a rate.

I've been in a ride with a Vig 3200 and driven. But there isnt one of every converter or too many people with 2.73 gears near me. By watching the clips, it is fairly obvious what to expect - watch the clip I posted, it shows average rpm while slowly accelerating and small drop in rpm for gear change. I just figured since everyone post clips for "what exhaust?" threads, maybe we could get something similar for the "what converter?" guys.SmokinV8 - Thanks for the clip.

I agree with you. It is extremely difficult to find someone with a converter and the dreaded 2.73 gears.
The only converter car I have driven had 3.42's, 3500 stall, and 3.0str
I noticed a differance in driving, but not much. I too fear when I jump to a high stall (SS3800) that its gonna be way too loose, but I think i'll get used to it fairly quicky

I have 3.23s and an SS4000. I'll video it for ya'll. With the PCM shift point and converter lockup changes I've made, you'll be VERY surprised to see how drivable it is. It's actually quite a bit MORE drivable now than it was with the 3500 stall because of these PCM tricks that weren't done then.

I've got a SS3800 in my daily driver, with the proper tuning you can't tell the difference between the SS3800 and the stock converter except when you floor it, then it really comes alive. I lowered my shift points(MPH and RPM) and raised the line pressure alittle and it's alomost as smooth as stock.

Yes I'm curious what are the tricks you mentioned I have a Vig 3600 in my daily driver and its pretty loose but I love it at the track but it could be better. I have edit but I really don't know how to use it all that much.
