Default How much coaxing to I need to get the trans off of the engine?

Ive got the torque arm off, now the only thing left to do is get the trans off of the motor. Ive got all of the bellhousing bolts off, and the flexplate to torque converter bolts..now I need to just get the trans disconnected from the motor. I have the trans on a jack with a board under it to stabilize it and the car is on jackstands under the front k member.

if your lucky it will pop off with a little tug. or it could be like mine was last time and need a ratcheting tie strap from the rear end to the tailshaft and a well placed kick on the tailshaft. be patient and it will come off. good luck

Explains all of the noise when I started it up a year ago . $8000 later and a new trans and engine when I could have been driving it.

I dropped my motor some to get to the top bolt. When I swapped Mine out the tranny slid tight off just make sure the torque converter don't fall out and land on you girls puppy and kills it...nvm You got it

the first time mine came off it took a little persuasion but nothing extreme... the second and third time it came off like nothing.

wanna talk about hard... I just pulled a tranny out of our 94 Kenworth last week, that was hard ...
