Default Car hesitates after WOT shifts

I just installed a yank SS3800 and a transgo shift kit in my 98 TA. Now at WOT shifts the car feels like it hesitates or dies right after a shift...What is causing this?

Maybe some TM issues. TM pulls timing before a shift though

Another possibility is that there is knock retard happening
right at the bottom of downshift (engine RPMs pull down
harder / faster w/ the shift kit, making the slow reaction
of timing advance more of a problem. I used to see this
w/ my stock converter after shortening the adaptation
time w/ Predator, little KR "blips" on the WOT upshifts.
The KR, unlike torque management, has a persistent
"tail" that takes several tenths of a second to fully
disappear once triggered.

Maybe you want a little more PE. If you were able to
adjust the torque management action to make it pull
(say) only 2-5 degrees of timing during the shift this
might suppress it more cleanly, but this is getting fancy.
TM timing pull seems to come & go instantaneously and
a little pull during the shift (instead of 30 degrees )
might be a better overall action (ease up on the trans a
tiny bit, and avoid the knock event that rolls on KR).

yeah.. on a 98 it's not likely TM.

I'd look at KR first.

Ya, That is what I thought....I knew TM usely effected the newer model cars and I didn't think that my 98 would have that problem. But like I said it just falls on its face or takes a nose dive on shifts for like 1/2 a sec. So I need to get it scanned and look at the KR on shifts? What is normal KR on shifts?

my truck does that exact same thing...i'm not seing any knock retard on my wot shifts tho...it just hesitates like mad and it is the worst on the 1-2..one thing i notice is when i clear the computer it shifts perfectly fine until i get about 3-4 wot shifts and then it goes back to crap..im really curious whats causing this because it is slowing me down quite a bit..im thinking it has to be something in the computer because it won't do it right after its cleared (like right after i reprogram with my hpp3), but im not sure what in the computer is causing it... help please
