I need better 60ft's?

Mods are in sign and the best 60 I can cut is a 1.7 on the motor. It does not spin at the air pressure @16 on the et streets. I can only stall the car to about 2200 or a little more. The car feels ok coming out of but not no monstor hit. Should I look for a bigger convertor or should I try flashing it. I hoped to be cutting 1.6 or maybe a 1.5 on motor with the new heads and cam. Thanks. Oh and with a 75 shot on the stock motor it cut 1.5 with no spinning issues with lower tire pressure too of course.
Gator's right on the motor 60s. The best heads and cam runs on slicks were low 1.6s on motor. The best I've cut with the 422 is a 1.58 on motor and that's spinning slicks. Now hit that with a 100 shot and I've cut plenty of 1.4s.
It's important to remember that the power and torque you added with the 1.6 STR is not as much a hit as a 2.2+ STR on your old number probably.
So your choices for a 1.4 60 are another converter in the SS 3800-SS 4000 range or put your 75 shot back on and that SY3500 will pep up nicely.

I was hopeing to cut a better 60 with the added extra power. I know the other convertors will help, but I figured I could cut into the 1.6's the way it was because I cut 1.70's before with the stock internals. Thanks alot, I guess I see a new convert in the future.

Thanks, and which one would you suggest. I still want to drive around in it. It is not my daily driver so I don't mind the looseness, but don't want too much. Thanks.
I would go with a SS 3800-SS4000 for the nitrous/motor setup and should do very well for either. If your going NA the PS is not the converter to run because of it's low shift extentions and bad effeciancy. I would go with a PT 4200 all motor if your wanting a semi tight converter that pulls 1.5s easy NA.
hey, i had the sy3500 and that is only good for nitrous because with a cam and converter. i only got to a 1.7 n/a but i heard people go 1.4's with that sy3500 on nitrous though... i got a pt4400.. i heard those are good..ill have to go to the track when i get done with everything

Yeh that is the way my car runs before the heads and cam. It was 1.7 n/a and 1.53 best on a 75 shot. I was hoping to cut alittle better now n/a but still want to sray the car after some miles on the new motor. Thanks for the replies. You guys rock on here.
For all out NA the YTP 4200 is best but loose. It will be ok with a 100 shot but if you are using 150 or more, it is not the best choice. The PS 4200 will be more drivable and be ok with a 150 shot, but you'll loose a little when racing from a roll.
I have the PS 4400 in right now and it is a bit tighter at low speeds than my YTP 4200.

Ragtop,i hope you don't get disapointed with the PS 4400. I lost .15 tenth and 2 mph when i switched my TCS 4400 out for the PS 4400 and now the PS 4400 is in a box going back to mike,in place of it is a PT 4400 that is in the car now. I'm not the only one that lost ET and mph from this converter either so don't be shocked when it does not out pull the PT 4200 through the topend. Now i can tell you that it will 60ft. hard pulling low 1.5s on a 2400 rpm launch. I would hang onto your PT 4200 until you get some solid track results.

Mike was supposed to send the PS4200 (I wanted the same stall, just a little tighter) which I think would hold its mph better than the PS4400 (different pump). Appearantly one of my fellow mods was there when was building it and convinced him to send the 4400 instead since I have a big heavy boat.
Mike said to try it out and if I want to switch, just let him know and he'll send me the 4200. Unfortunately, rain and personal obligations kept me from the track and we have a couple months before the season starts now.
Given how the 4400 feels, I think the 4200 would have been perfect for my performance/drivability situation.

Hold on here. This guy has heads and cam on an ET Street and can't pull better than a 1.7 60'. It has to be a weak converter because I have boltons and a 3200 Vigi and I'm pulling 1.67 60's on a 275 Nitto.

What was the shift extensions on the SS4000?? My little Vig. 3200 had 5000 rpms shift extensions when i had it and i thought that the SS4000 woul be around 5300 or so?
