I just bought my cooler too, so I'd like to know the same answer. Does it matter which is the return/sender if you're only using the cooler and not the cooler and radiator? The instructions didn't say anything.

Thanks all. (sorry for the hijack).

The top line is the return line to the tranny from the cooler.

Are these rubber lines going to hold the pressure? for some reason i can see them popping off alot. and will they fit the hardlines using the supplied brass fittings or am i going to have to get some other fittings that didn't some with the kit?

You could just go with some braided stainless lines for cooling lines, costs some money, but it could save a big mess down the line.

Where could I get that at? also i have NO money lol. just spent it getting my SS4000 installed. gotta wait for payday.

Also would you reccomend going throught the stock cooler then the B&M back to the tranny? or should i just bypass the stock cooler altogether?

Well, I'd try either Summit Racing or Jegs. I'm not sure of the cost, but it should be around $100 give or take. I'd go with the aftermarket cooler for your transmission cooling instead of going through both coolers, but that is just me. I'd try both ways to see which cools your transmission fluid more.

Bypass the stock cooler i run 2 external coolers... ive seen the stock radiator coolers fail and that means mixing trans fluid and water/ antifreeze... which in turn means failed trans and converter. Thats what turned me away from using the stock cooler.

oh and as for the lines i just used the rubber lines supplied with the coolers and ran them straight to the hard lines and clamped them with the screw on type hose clamps.

Is the top line on the radiator/ tranny cooler the same as the top fitting on the transmission? I need to double check mine!

Sorry for the Hijack, felt it could be useful in this thread!

The fitting on the transmission itself is NOT the same as the fitting that goes into the stock cooler.

I disconnected the stock cooler lines and just pushed the fitting back 3", slipped the 3/8 hose over the end and clamped it with a hose clamp. I ran it today and beat on it and it worked fine, no leaks. I have my truck done the same way and it's been holding for about a year now.

The stock rubber lines are just clamped on in some spots with clamps that are little better than hose clamps.
