What is the maximum safe operating tempature on a 4L60e Trans

What is the maximum safe operating tempature on a 4L60e Trans I just installed my new PerformaBuilt Level 3 4L60E Transmission and finally got out to the track. The transmission worked awesome! My only issue was after a couple of n/a runs in the 11.7 range the tempature on my guage was showing around 195. After a few more runs it climbed to 200. On the 5th and 6th runs the tempature would be around 210 at the end of the runs even though I let it cool down to 190-195 in-between runs. This seemed high to me but I could not find any references to safe operating range on this site. I'd be interested to hear what others are running for tempatures. My stats are in my signature...no nitrous runs yet this year....Thanks all!

Spoke with Perfomabuilt today and they say...... Spoke with the guys at PerformaBuilt today who built my Level 3 4L60E and they said 200-210 is OK when drag racing as it is only at that tempature a short time. They also said if it gets past 230 that's a problem. As far as quality of fluids, I was running synthetic in the previous transmission until YANK told me not to! PerformaBuilt disagrees and says synthetic poses no problems to the tranny and can take more heat without breaking down. Thanks to all for the feedback!

I am sure PERFORMABUILT knowes what is best for their trans. I beleve Yank understands converters. I do not not think you will get the full potential from any high stall if useing synthetic as it will not allow the clutches in the converter to work as they should.
To each his/her own, I do not run synthetic in my stalls or any pos diff with clutches
