Default thinking about a stall, need some info!

Well im thinking about my next mod being a torque converter but ive got a couple questions. Newbie questions basically since i havent done very much research or know much about transmissions.

1. What size stall should i go with? Ive considered the 3600 but i see alot of guys going with the 4000 lately.

2. Is there a specific size stall that helps the car do alot better from a roll? Basically, does the 3600 do better on a roll then the 4000 or is it the other way around is what im asking?

3. Will my transmission go out with a new stall? My cars at 125k miles and going, im worried about installing a new torque converter and the tranny go outs on me.

4. Is there anything else i should know or have in mind, if i do go after a new torque converter??

Ive got Goodyear Eagle F1 Gs/D3's in the rear at the moment, still with some good tread left. They hook decently, and ive got a new set of wheels that i still need tires for. So im not to worried all that much, new tires are needed lol

I had those tires before i put my stall in (just a VIG3000ish) 1st time at the track...

IMO @ 125k you might want to look into a rebuild tranny. Got mine @ FLT (sponsor on this site) and it works beautifully now w/ a set of BFG DRs

I'd say at the very least get a tranny cooler. B&M works well. & if your not going to run DRs get used to driving it out of the hole on a bit of a slant

ALSO idk what mods you have but that will usually dictate what stall to go with as you want the stall to put you into your powerband. + if your on a stock 10bolt I wouldn't go too high. Thats the reason i went with the 3000, and prly the reason my rear is still located under my car and not back at the start line

These are the 2 main reasons why ive held off on a stall & drag radials for awhile now.

There's a guy locally who says he can build a transmission capable of holding up to 600hp. I may look into that and see what he can do and what price he will charge. Otherwise i was considering putting a Performabuilt Lvl 2 Trans on layaway.

Yea I just did a 3600 and I really like it. You get used to it pretty fast. Not sure I would do 4000 though since it's my DD

If you go with a 3600 or 4000 stall you will need pcm tuning or the tranmission will not respond properly
