Default Do stalls make THAT much of a difference?

I'm about to have a cam installed, and with the stock stall, i can run a 224r 114lsa cam no problem. Well I really want a 228r 112lsa cam, but I would need a stall.

My question is, if I get a 3500 or so stall, would there be a HUGE difference in acceleration? I've never driven a stalled car before, so I have no idea what to expect.

i did my stall before my cam and the car seems to acclerate 10 times faster than stock. I now have a tr230 cam and edge stall. When driving around normal the stall is barely noticeable. But under WOT the car is a blast to drive. I recommend a good stall.

I wanna do a cam to my car too. I wonder at what point on a stock car with a cam you would need a stall?

Huge difference. Like a shot of nitrous but no bottle to refill.

Hey buddy, I need to give you a call. I'm about to have a cam installed by G-force, and was thinking about getting a stall from you.

It should be one of the first mod you do when you have an automatic.

Stalls make a very big difference ( if you can hook up ) . My ride with stock converter, D/R's and -85 d.a went 13.1 .
With my Yank ss4000 stall ,I went 12.52 in +1428 d.a. Thats 12.33 corrected . 8 tenths !!
I dropped .25 off of my 60 ft . Thats a real good reason for a stall This is on a stock motor too ! No headers ,stock LS1 intake .

I felt like I gained more from the stall than I did from the TR230 cam....should be the first mod for an auto car period.

There was a post where someone went from a stock stall to I believe a Yank PT4000 and knocked a full second off the times. From around 13.00 to around 12.00. So yes, a stall can make a huge difference.

Try this with a stock stall, forcing the tranny to hold 2nd

Not much just SLP lid, K&N, TB bypass, no cats, V force. It;s an auto and I am doing LT headers and 373 gears soon. Unsure of the right cam though. Don't want something with too big of a lift but def not mild either.

right now, all i have is full intake and full exhaust. if i go to a 228r, 3600 stall, and a tune, will it be like a new car? also, would it even be worth putting 3.73's in?

As far as the feel, I think mine feels less responsive and I know there are other who feels the same, but it did knock 7 tenths off of my 1/4 and gained me 3 mph.

You don't need the gears. With the cam and the stall it will be much faster.

Gears would make it drive better, but they wouldn't do much towards making it faster.
