i use a truck pan as was offered by FLT with my new tranny. Did that back in the day when FLT sold parts to beef up your tranny too. It adds a quart or so, and ive never banged it on the road or have had any issues what so ever.

Cool

Deep pans are great as long as theres enough ground clearance.

I have a truck pan, 1.5 quarts more. It doesn't run cooler it just takes longer to get up to operating temp and longer to cool back down.
It was free thats the only reason I use it.

Tranny cooler is alway a good extra protection for any auto tranny. Deep pan is also a good thing to add. I run a truck deep pan on my old 97 z a4 and tranny cooler mount right in front of radiator. I dint feel any different in performing, but it just give me a peice of mind that those 2 will help my tranny run cooler and help it last a little bit longer, btw get deep pan with drain plug on it. and dont get mirror polish chrome looking one, cause mine leaking and I did tight down the bolt, still not help, then I swap out with truck deep pan ( none polish chrome verion ) and it havent leak on me until I sold it.

Yea Idk if you have seen it but that b&m has 3 quart extra capacity, has cooling fins at the bottom, and a drain plug. Seems like a nice little pan and the right thing to do.
What tranny is the truck pan off of? Did you need a filter extention?

Im still curious if the guys using that b&m had to use a extention anyone?

Hi I try dig up my old thread, could find any, I think I was using silverado truck deep pan forgot the year, and yes I have to use longer filter neck.

yes B&M made good quality tranny pan, it thick as hell which is very good, im using their B&M tranny cooler too.

if I remember correct, when I order auto filter at advance auto part, they ask me if I need short version or long version, if you have deep pan, tell em you need long version. Here the tip when doing tranny filter change, NEVER CHANGE OUT THAT FILTER NECK SEAL THAT ON THE TRANNY !! I was made mistake and dint not do enough research , and fk up that seal and I have to go to hell for 2 day to get it out and put new one in, most peoples on the forum just leave the filter neck gasket alone, and throw the one that come with the new filter away.

Update : After did some more research on diging on old thread, I was using deep pan of 02 silverado ( got it from ebay for 30 buck ) that already have drain plug on it. and I heard truck pan with drain plug has been discontinue. It still made truck deep pan but no drain plug, here the part # 24229658 is the number for the truck deep pan. I think it was 30 dollar some thing at dealer. hey you can buy drain plug at autozone and install it yourself, or take to the machine shop and let them do it for 10 buck. We did it on my friends car.

B&M 70260 Deep Aluminum Transmission Pan GM 4L60E it hold 3 xtra quart. I think it almost 200 dollar back then. Search ebay or sale section on tech you might find one. But I also heard if you got rebuild by one of our sponsor, it already come with deep pan and filter on it hehe

When I did my 98 car tranny fluid I didnt have any problem with the neck seal. All you gotta do is pry it in a little and grab it with some small needle nose plyers. But I didnt have to take it out. It was fine the way it was. I just wanted to take old out and put new in so I could say I did it. No prob. Im getting a stall sometime so Ill probly wait till then to do the fluid and get the b&m pan + cooler. Well..that is if im gonna have enough cash to do it soon enough.
