Default flexplate ?

Do I have to have a ls specific flexplate or can I buy any sfi approved flexplate? Does it matter if its a flat or curved one? For a th400

It really depends on what year car you have. If you have a 98-00 then that flywheel has both bolt holes. The 01-02 models have the new flywheel that didn't retain both bolt holes. I believe on the older flywheels all you have to do is drill out the holes that are already stamped. I just had this issue with my car. It's a 2002 Z28, I was swapping in a th350 into. I had to end up buying a TCI flywheel for my car to make the converter bolt up. Good luck man.

Get the FTI on or a TCI. Do not use a stock flexplate

Ive found some SFI approved ls flexplates from 89.00-140.00 for the cheaper brands and then you have the big baller names for 200-250. I dont want it to blow up but to me if there both SFI approved then I dont see a difference besides somebody is marking theres up more. Im a cheap *** Anyways with an older style converter do I have to have the dual pattern or can I just massage the stock holes? Btw how is the Dorks car coming?

I've also got the TCI flexplate, I had PTC build the converter with for a LS swap so I didn't have to run the pilot extension
