Default PerformaBuilt VS. RPM Trans VS. Everything Else

hey im going to be needing a trans soon doing alot of upgrades and shooting for 450+ RWHP and maybe some NOS. I have a 02 Camaro with a Yank ss3600 already installed. just want some feedback on what you guys are running and how its treating you. I know performabuilt and RPM are both sapose to be great transmissions but im having trouble making my mind up.

there are plenty of these threads around if you do a search. you cant really go wrong with a trans from either of the sponsors here. i went with one from performabuilt. really nice product and good service.

You want to talk about Customer service, after i installed my PERFORMABUILT TRANS.As i was cleaning up, i saw a bag with a bunch of O-rings, So right away i started to freak out thinking that i forgotten to do a step or what ever. And by this time i was pretty drunk, so for what ever reason i called and left a massage. It was around 10;45pm on a friday night. At 11 oclock my phone rang it was Frank from PB.Just to tell me not to worry about it. They stand behind what they sell!

I've only had my PB level II in my car for a few months....I did have a problem with a servo, but Frank sent a new one and it works great. I'll have to put more miles on the trans before I can say I made the right choice, but I'm happy right now.

If I had my choice between the two.... RPM would be my first choice. However I guess I would just build my own because that is what I do for a living. Take some time and look over what we have to offer. I think you will like all the parts that go into our build over others. Make sure you are getting your money's worth is what I'm saying. Thank you for your time and if you have any questions please feel free to contact us. Vince www.finishlinetrans.com

why does everbody have a core charge besides performabuilt? my trans only has 18000 miles on it so im probably goin to yank it out and try to sell it for a little cash to go towards the new one......so im leaning more towards perfomabuilt right now

If you buy their converter too you'll get a two year warranty. I just sold my stock trans with 56k w/o the tail shaft or bell housing....you'll need those on the Performabuilt trans.

Do this once.....do it right.....trust me,it cost us a ton of $$$$...
so buy the best out there....FLT saved our azzes when anothers sponsors so called & implied built 700hp trans could not hold up to our 407rwhp camaro....the first 2 trans went about 1500 miles combined & the 3rd had problems from the git-go.
you are gonna hear this & that about this sponsor,i guess some people get lucky, but why gamble?....its your money. so buy the best out there & be done.do it once....

FLT fixed it & we never looked back....great people, great shop, look at all the up to date equipment & the know how to get the job done right the first time!!!!!

search is your friend,,,

good luck!

Went with FLT LV2. Only got 2k miles on it so far, works great for me. Really puts me in my seat when I get on it.
I'll be going to the track couple times when the dang weather up here can stay consistent.

You cant really go wrong with RPM, FLT or Performabuilt. They all offer a great product, and have great customer service. My personal preference is RPM, although i do have a Performabuilt trans as well (see below)

Heres my experiences.

Ive had RPMs Level V T56 (Viper spec, cryo'd, micropolished, etc) since 06 and LOVE it!! Their customer service is incredible, and they took GREAT care of me, and answered every question i could think of. I had an issue with the 1st trans they sent me. It would occasionally pop out of ONLY 3rd, ONLY downshifting, so the next week, i had another built trans waiting for me at my local freight terminal. No charge, and no downtime. He covered shipping for the second trans, and return on the first, and now, well over 4 years later, the trans has been in 2 of our cars, and has been FLAWLESS!!!

I also have a Performabuilt Level 2 4L60e and 4000 stall in our auto car and have not had a single issue at all, I only have maybe 4000 miles on the stall/trans, but Ive been pretty abusive with it and so far(Well over a year) its been great. Frank has been very helpful with all my questions, and i have NO complaints at all!

I cant speak personally about FLT, but i have heard NOTHING but great things about their products as well as their service. I would NOT hesitate to run one of their built transmissions!!!
