Default what happens when...

... your tq converter breaks, my car was having problems shifting into 3/4 but somtimes it would inlike a symptom of a burnt clutch pack but later on as i was trying to get home it lost all engagment like it wasnt in gear at all, just free reving....tranny shop says " maybe" its the converter scince the tranny is only 2 days old after a rebuild, but i dont know if they just want more money and want me to replace my converter......its a midwest 3600 and it was fine when it went in there and now all of the sudden goes out.....what would the symptoms of a converter going out be....

Converter is the same for all gears. Anything that's gear
specific is inside the tranny. If the converter wasn't
coupling you wouldn't go in 1st or 2nd either.

"Maybe" the tranny shop is trying to dodge their duty
by making you think somebody else is to blame.

let me be a little more clear, it was acting like a burnt clutch pack but somtimes it would go into 3rd and stay, it was an inconsistant patern.then all the sudden it didnt engage anything at all. the 1-2 'noid was showing a code as well
